You can unsubscribe from StewMac emails by visiting the "Preferences" portion of your StewMac account, unchecking the box next to "Email me", and saving your changes. You will need to enter a phone number (or even simply 555-555-5555, etc.) to save your changes, but rest assured that you will not receive text message alerts if you do not have that option selected. 
If you would like to unsubscribe from text message alerts, you can simply reply "STOP" to any of the text messages that you received.
